Bad Bunny made a bold promise to his supporters after receiving one of the most prestigious honours of his professional life.

In a career-defining moment on Thursday, October 23, Hollywood legend Rita Moreno presented the Puerto Rican superstar with the Top Latin Artist of the 21st Century Award at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards

The nonagenarian Puerto Rican icon surprised Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, on stage and praised him, saying, "Today I see an artist who brings to the entire world that same strength, that same passion that helped me never give up."

As the recor producer walked up to accept his award, the two briefly danced together on the tune of Baile Inolvidable, living a full-circle moment between two generations of Puerto Rican greatness.

"I respect you a lot, I admire you a lot, wow," the Monaco hitmaker told Moreno, returning the warmth she exuded earlier. "I accept this award with pride because I know how hard I’ve worked, not only myself, but everyone on my team."

The "King of Latin Trap" went on to share a heartfelt message to aspiring artists, saying he will always identify with those still dreaming of the big stage and representing their culture and heritage.

"I’m grateful," he continued speaking from his heart. "This is yours because you have me here. I don’t know, God wanted me to receive it because it doesn’t feed my ego. I receive it without arrogance, very humbly, and I will remain the same."

The multi-platinum artist’s latest achievement follows a streak of record-breaking success.

His last four albums, Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025), Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana (2023), Un Verano Sin Ti (2022), and El Último Tour del Mundo (2020), all debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Continuing to break barriers and defying all odds Bad Bunny is scheduled to take one of America’s biggest stages as he is announced as the headliner for the 2026 super bowl halftime show.
