Meghan Markle's spokesperson quits over 'horrible' conditions: Report

Meghan Markle has lost a key member of her team, and word on the street is that it wasn’t on good terms.

Emily Robinson, who joined as the Duchess of Sussex’s director of communications in June, has reportedly resigned after just three months in the role. She was also Meghan’s tenth publicist in five years, fuelling speculation about high turnover within the duchess's inner circle.

A friend of Robinson’s revealed via the Daily Mail that Robinson “was the one to call time on her role.”

The friend emphasised, “It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.”

Robinson’s LinkedIn profile makes no mention of her brief stint with Meghan, it does highlight her previous media and PR experience.

According to a Sussex spokesperson, Robinson “oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company,” adding that “she did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success.”

Robinson’s recruitment raised eyebrows from the start, given her past work on Netflix’s The Crown — a show known for its highly dramatic portrayal of the Royal Family. According to the Daily Mail, Meghan and her husband Prince Harry were fully aware of Robinson’s ties to the show before hiring her.

At the time, critics bashed the latest recruitment, noting that it sends a signal that the Sussexes have no plans to mend fences with their estranged family.

However, it did not prove to be an obstacle as Harry later reunited with his father King Charles in September.
