Travis Kelce celebrates Taylor Swift achievement after Chiefs fiery victory
Taylor Swift’s 'Opalite' shines in Chiefs' highlights as Travis Kelce praises team’s momentum
The Kansas City Chiefs are entering Week 8 with unstoppable energy after their dominant 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Patrick Mahomes and the offense delivered a near-perfect performance, while tight end Travis Kelce praised the team’s focus and rhythm on his New Heights .
“There’s some mind-blowing stats,” Kelce said. “We had as many first downs as they had total plays. It’s crazy to think about what really went on this past Sunday.”
Kelce’s brother and ESPN analyst Jason Kelce also joined in, celebrating the Chiefs’ win and adding a playful nod to Travis’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, who was in attendance at Allegiant Stadium. Jason noted that Mahomes featured Swift’s track Opalite in his Instagram highlight reel from the game.
“The sky is definitely opalite in Kansas City right now,” Jason joked, to which Travis replied, “I told y’all it was gonna be a banger, man.”
The Chiefs’ hot streak coincides with a major milestone for Swift herself. The pop superstar was just announced as a nominee for the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame in the Performing Songwriters category, joining icons like Pink, LL Cool J, and Sarah McLachlan.
It’s her first year of eligibility, following the release of her debut single Tim McGraw in 2006.
Swift’s nomination adds another layer of excitement for the Chiefs’ upcoming Monday night matchup against the Washington Commanders, where she’s expected to return to Arrowhead Stadium.
With Kansas City favored heavily and the Commanders missing key players, the atmosphere promises to be electric both on the field and in the stands.
