Ed Sheeran brings joy to elementary school students with special gesture
Ed Sheeran delights children with playful songs during his visit as substitute teacher
Ed Sheeran indulged in a different career choice briefly as he stepped in as a substitute teacher at a public school in Brooklyn.
The Sapphire singer conducted a music class, teaching students on how to use looper pedals and ended up singing a silly song about brushing one’s teeth.
At the beginning of the web series Celebrity Substitute, Sheeran told host Julian Shapiro-Barnum that he felt the day would "either go really well and you’ll be like, ‘That was great,’ or it’ll really fail and you’ll get a lot of clicks."
The Grammy Winner kicked off the class with Photograph acoustic version and then introduced the kids to the loop machine.
They all took a turn contributing a sound, some sang, some played saxophone and some just made funky noises.
Eventually, the classroom turned into Sheeran's mini-concert where he along with the students sang, "I woke up one day, I brushed my teeth."
"I’m brushing my teeth, I’m brushing my teeth, oh yeah," Sheeran added, as the track came together into a complete song.
By the end of the study session Shape of You singer achieved A grade in managing the classroom and imparting some wisdom about music.
Following his successful visit, Sheeran is set to kick off his Loop Tour in support of his newly released album Play, in December all through November 2026.
