John Stamos recalls giving Lori Loughlin a wakeup call about her ex-husband
John Stamos says he's 'heartbroken' for his 'Full House' costar after Mossimo Giannulli 'busted her up'
John Stamos cannot bear to see his former Full House costar Lori Loughlin going through such a difficult time in her life.
During an appearance on the Good Guys podcast with Josh Peck and Ben Soffer on Monday, October 20, the 62-year-old actor opened up about his longtime friend’s recent split from Mossimo Giannulli — announced earlier this month — calling the fashion designer a “terrible narcissist” and an “a**hole.”
Stamos admitted he’s “heartbroken” for Loughlin, 61, after her 28-year marriage came to an end, saying she’s “just devastated.”
“For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife — I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way,” he said. “I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.”
The General Hospital alum also reflected on Loughlin’s 2020 legal troubles, when she and Giannulli pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella, into USC.
“She goes to f**king prison for this asshole for three months,” Stamos said, adding that he’s tried to support her ever since and even gave her a reality check once.
“I said, “Look, all the negativity or hardships that you’ve been through in your life is connected to this guy,” he recalled. “Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core. She put up with a lot over the years of this guy.”
As for his own stance on Giannulli? “I will never talk to him again,” Stamos declared, adding, “I pray that he realises that what he had was everything that anyone could ever hope for — and that he gets some help.”
