Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube sued for fraud: Everything to know about the lawsuit

Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube are being sued for over $1 million of fraud.

According to a new report by US Weekly published October 20, the rap icons are pushing back hard against the lawsuit and are avoiding a lengthy deposition scheduled for this month.

Snoop and Ice Cube — members of the hip hop supergroup Mount Westmore — filed legal documents in August asking a judge to block their scheduled depositions in a $1.3 million lawsuit filed by Westside Merchandising LLC.

The company alleges that Snoop, 53, Ice Cube, 56, and their other Mount Westmore bandmates — Too Short and E-40 — failed to deliver on a merchandise deal tied to a planned 60-date tour that never materialised.

In their August filing, lawyers for the rappers called the company’s deposition request “harassing, oppressive, and burdensome,” insisting their clients don’t have anything “substantive” to add to the court battle.

Snoop said he was filming a movie at the time, while Ice Cube cited obligations with his Big3 basketball league. Too Short and E-40 said they weren’t even parties to the agreement between Mount Westmore and Westside Merchandising.

Westside, meanwhile, is demanding sanctions, claiming the pair is stalling and refusing to return the $1.375 million it advanced for the tour. The company said Mount Westmore only played three shows in 2022 and none since.

Attorney Frank Seddigh, representing the group, told Us Weekly on October 20: “Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, and Too Short… have always conducted their business in good faith and with integrity.”

He added that Westside’s claims are “entirely baseless and without merit.”

A judge has yet to rule on the deposition dispute.
