Is Robbie Williams 'jealous' of Taylor Swift's success?
Taylor Swift new album 'The Life of A Showgirl' is breaking records
Robbie Williams latest statement is giving the impression that the singer might be jealous of Taylor Swift’s success.
The 51-year-old singer and songwriter was due to release his record "BRITPOP" on October 10, which is just a week after Taylor’s release of her new album "The Life of A Showgirl".
But, Robbie delayed the release of his new album as he does not want it to compete with Swift’s new record and create hurdles for his new work from topping charts.
In an intimate show at London’s Dingwalls venue, the Angels hitmaker stated, "Here’s the truth: I want 16 Number One albums. Taylor then decided to put her album out the same weekend as me.”
He continued, "I was like: 'For f***'s sake! I’ll put it out the next week’, and they were like: 'She does these other deluxe versions’. I was like: 'F****** hell! Can I put it out the week after that then?”
Williams have now decided to push back the release of his new album to February 2026.
He said in anticipation, "They were like: 'Oasis might be around then... 'For f*** sake! Let’s do it in f****** February when no one’s got an album out.”
The English vocalist, however, admitted that he is being selfish, but he does not want to jeopardize his chance of breaking records with his fresh record.
