Taylor Swift responds to post-release chaos: 'I'm not the art police'
Taylor Swift breaks silence on widespread criticism of new album 'The Life of a Showgirl'
Taylor Swift is finally responding to the widespread criticism of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
During her regal appearance on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show, the 35-year-old songstress opened up about her most explicit track, Wood.
Swift detailed the writing process behind her twelfth record, sharing how she hoped it would turn out to be something "mischievous, fun, scandalous, sexy, flirty, [and] hilarious."
The 14-time Grammy winner said that she’s prone to taking it all in, both positive and negative reactions—as she has always been open to “the chaos.”
“The rule of show business is: if it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping,” she admitted.
“I have a lot of respect for people’s subjective opinions on art. I’m not the art police.”
The Anti-hero hitmaker said people are most welcome to feel exactly how they want about her music, and that it’s simply part of her job description as an entertainer to let people breathe and experience the music however they choose.
