Queen Camilla mourns death of beloved one: 'unexpected'
Queen Camilla suffers heartbreaking loss amid tensions in the royal family
Queen Camilla has received heartbreaking news about her loved one's sudden death.
On October 6, a renowned royal commentator, Rebecca English, issued the sad update about the unexpected demise of Dame Jilly Cooper, who is a good friend of Camilla and contributed remarkably in the field of reading and writing.
The author passed away at the age of 88. She met Camilla last month for the Queen’s Reading Room Festival.
Dame Jilly's children, Felix and Emily, released a statement, calling their mother the shining light of their lives.
"Mum was the shining light in all of our lives. Her love for all of her family and friends knew no bounds. Her unexpected death has come as a complete shock."
"We are so proud of everything she achieved in her life and can’t begin to imagine life without her infectious smile and laughter all around us."
It has been reported that Queen Camilla was a big fan of Dame Jilly Cooper's books.
King Charles' wife also sent a special message to the writer when she made a Dame for services to literature and charity last year.
Recalling the Queen's sweet gesture, Dame Jilly shared, "Among my favourite messages was a beautiful card from Queen Camilla."
She added, "I also received a lovely telephone call from her former husband, Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles, who has helped me with so many of my books. And darling Dame Joanna Lumley, who starred in a TV series I wrote many years ago."
