Prince Harry hasn’t spoken to his brother Prince William in the past three years, but he certainly hopes for a day when they would finally break the ice.
The Duke of Sussex earlier this month reunited with his father King Charles at a ‘private tea’ at Clarence House for the first time in 19 months. Harry appeared in high spirits after the meeting but there were no signs of a reunion with the Prince of Wales.
While no direct comments were made, Harry showed how much he missed his sibling bond as he made a video appearance for the ABC’s new documentary The Happiest Story On Earth: 70 Years Of Disneyland.
He had recalled that he visited Disney in 1993 with “my mum and my brother” and he remembers it “very well”. A body language expert revealed that in the moment, Harry notably appears melancholic.
“Harry doesn’t just talk about his childhood memories here, he acts them out,” Judi James told Express UK, explaining that he goes into “childlike state with his body language”.
She said that that Harry expresses his excitement at the time but then “falls into a rather more nostalgic and sadder mood when reflecting the memories as an adult”.
Talking about the rides, Harry’s shoulders rise upwards “mimicking the small child he was looking up at all the magical rides”. She added, “His eyes are wide with wonder and he even gasps a few times.”
However, when Harry mentions his mother, Princess Diana, and her brother, “his eyes come down to perform an eye-dart suggesting he is reflecting on those two people, and his facial expression takes on a sadder look.”
The Duke had previously extended an olive branch to his brother during the secret aide summit in July, but William had not responded to it. It indicates that Harry is willing to reconnect with his estranged sibling only if the future king is willing to as well.
