Prince William celebrates poignant new partnership: 'Turn loss into hope'
The Prince of Wales marks the launch of a new mental health hub in Wales on World Suicide Prevention Day
Prince William is celebrating the launch of a new mental health hub on World Suicide Prevention Day.
On Wednesday, September 10, the Prince of Wales visited the new hub set up in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Wales. The hub was launched by the Jac Lewis Foundation in partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union — of which William is a patron — and The Royal Foundation — the independent charity that supports the non-profit work of Prince William and Princess Kate.
Following his visit, the future king took to his official Instagram account that he shares with Kate to champion the profound and meaningful work of the Jac Lewis Foundation.
“Thank you to the Jac Lewis Foundation, Jac’s family, friends and everyone involved in such a meaningful charity. Your work to provide rapid mental health support and wellbeing services across Wales is truly inspiring,” William reflected in the caption.
The foundation was set up in 2022 in memory of the young footballer who tragically took his own life in 2019 at the age of 27.
During his visit, William, 42, met with friends, family, and former teammates of Jac who turned their “loss into hope.”
William further reflected, “It was an honour to witness the incredible impact of your initiatives, from the new mental health hub at Cardiff Principality Stadium to the ongoing support for families bereaved by suicide."
He continued, "The dedication of everyone involved, and the way sport is being used to strengthen communities and mental health awareness is nothing short of remarkable.”
