Trump greeted with ‘Hitler of our time’ chants at DC restaurant
Trump's media talk was also disrupted by pro-Palestine protesters outside the restaurant
The U.S. President Donald Trump’s rare outing to a Washington D.C. restaurant was disrupted by protesters who chanted various slogans on Tuesday, September 9.
Trump arrived at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab, an eatery located just a quarter-mile from the White House. He was accompanied by several administration officials including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
His media talk was also disrupted by pro-Palestine protesters outside the restaurant. When he went inside, Trump was welcomed with chants by another group of protestors holding Palestinian flags.
The group chanted, “Free D.C., free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time.”
CODEPINK, a feminist grassroots organization working to end the U.S. wars and militarism, posted on X that the activists who chanted slogans were members of their organization.
In a post on X, the organization shared the video of the disruption and captioned, “CODEPINK activists disrupted Trump. Vance, Hegseth, Rubio and other cabinet members’ dinner.”
The organization added, “They feast while Gaza starves. Trump is the Hitler of our time. Free DC. Free Palestine! Stop terrorizing communities all over the world.”
The White House did not officially react to the incident, however, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the group’s food order.
She said, “The President and his team enjoyed crab, shrimp, salad, steak, and dessert. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. Thank you, Joe’s!”
