Prince Harry stuck in traffic as Prince William cruises by with royal perks
The Duke of Sussex is no longer privy to the royal perks like his brother the Prince of Wales
Prince Harry is getting used to life without royal perks, unlike his brother Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex arrived 45 minutes late to a charity event in Nottingham on Tuesday, September 9, after being caught in heavy traffic caused by a London Tube strike. His aides admitted the delay left him stuck in congestion like any other London commuter, according to GB News.
It was a sharp contrast to his brother William, the future king, who faced no such trouble as he carried out a royal engagement in South London the very same day.
The Prince of Wales visited Spiral Skills, a youth organisation backed by his Homewards initiative, where he joined workshops and met with young people as planned.
Harry, meanwhile, was travelling to the Community Recording Studio, a grassroots charity he has supported for more than a decade. Once afforded police escorts as a working royal, he no longer has those privileges ever since stepping down from royal duties with Meghan Markle in 2020.
Harry’s UK visit has sparked speculation about whether he will reunite with King Charles, whom he hasn’t seen since February. On Monday, Harry paid private respects at Queen Elizabeth II’s grave on her third death annievrsary before attending the WellChild Awards.
During his Nottingham visit, he is set to announce a personal donation to BBC Children in Need, alongside a £300,000 contribution from the charity.
