Prince William reflects on 'special opportunity' as Prince Harry just miles away
The Prince of Wales issues a fresh statement as his estranged brother the Duke of Sussex was closeby
Prince William and Prince Harry honoured their grandmother’s memory on the same day — but from opposite sides of Windsor.
On Monday, September 8, William and Princess Kate stepped out in Sunningdale for a commemorative event marking Queen Elizabeth II’s death anniversary. The royal couple joined the National Federation of Women’s Institute (WI), an organisation that held great significance for the late monarch.
Just eight miles away, Harry quietly made his own tribute at St George’s Chapel, laying a wreath and bouquet of flowers at the late monarch’s grave shortly after arriving from California, according to the Daily Mail.
It was the closest the brothers have been to one another since their grandmother’s funeral in 2022, though the long-awaited reunion has yet to come.
Instead, William reflected on the occasion with a statement shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account, run by Kensington Palace.
“Very special opportunity to hear from members today about the importance of The Late Queen’s involvement in the organisation and meet those who met with her during her reign,” the caption read.
Harry, in town for the WellChild Awards, is set to spend four days in Britain — but it remains unclear if he will see any senior royals during his stay.
