Prince William and Kate Middleton released a statement earlier this month after more allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor emerged in the latest revelations about Jeffrey Epstein.

The Prince and Princess of Wales said they are "deeply concerned" by the latest revelations about Jeffrey Epstein.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said Prince William and Catherine were "focused on the victims" in light of new information contained in documents related to the late sex offender released in the US.

A royal spokesperson said: "I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.

"Their thoughts remain focused on the victims."

However, after the former Prince Andrew's arrest on Thursday, the royal family, especially Prince William and Kate Middleton have become target of a fresh wave of criticism, with social media users questioning their intentions.

Social media users have shared the couple's photos with the disgraced former Duke of York, expressing doubt that they actually cared about Epstein's victim.

They said William and Kate's pictures with Andrew were taken long after it was publicly known that Andrew had ties with Epstein.

According to Reuters news agency, Andrew's arrest heralded the worst crisis for the British monarchy in 90 years.

Reuters wrote,  "The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, and the public humiliation over his relationship with the late convicted US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has left some wondering if the saga could spell the beginning of the end for the 1,000-year-old institution."
