Prince William takes key role for Queen Elizabeth third death anniversary
Prince William takes meaningful position as King Charles, Queen Camilla remain in Scotland
Prince William will be making a solo appearance after Kensington Palace made an important announcement about the future King’s new role.
On the the anniversary of his late grandmother’s death, the Prince of Wales will be visiting the National Federation of the Women’s Institute (WI) in Sunningdale on Monday. The visit is meant to honour Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away September 8, 2022, at age 96.
William decided to take on the meaningful task since the organisation has a poignant royal connection and the date would be an apt way to honour the late monarch.
Queen Elizabeth was a member of the organisation for 80 years as she joined the organisation in 1943 at the age of 17. She was the president of the Sandringham WI from 2003 until her death. She remained an active member and would regularly attend the New Year meet.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla are still at Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, and the couple is expected to mark the sombre occasion privately.
The King and Queen were seen attending the Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, where they were also joined by the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his wife, Lady Victoria Starmer.
William’s update also comes as Prince Harry will be arriving in the UK to attend the WellChild Awards in London. It is unlikely that the estranged siblings would cross paths as the Prince of Wales appears to be busy and Harry himself has a tough schedule planned for his four-day visit.
It remains to be seen if a meeting with the monarch will be on Harry’s itinerary this time around.
