'Wednesday' fans express disappointment at Lady Gaga cameo
Lady Gaga fans divided over 'Wednesday' role after first look reveal
Wednesday Season 2 will feature a celebrity cameo from none other than Lady Gaga. Although fans anticipated the pop superstar’s appearance in the show, some have complaints.
The 39-year-old songstress gave fans the first glimpse into her character for the show on Tuesday, September 2, which sparked a mixed reaction.
The first picture showed Gaga in a white costume, with matching hair, and dark lipstick, along with the infamous ‘Thing’ placed atop her shoulder.
The Vanish Into You hitmaker’s fans took to Reddit and shared their opinions on the character which differed from their expectations, with one asking, “why.”
Another wrote, “I wish it was Britney Spears instead she’s good with knives and snakes,” and “She’s going to ruin another sequel like the Joker,” said one.
Some expressed their disappointment on Gaga playing the character of Rosaline Rotwood, while they hoped she would have played another character.
“She looks like ophelia to me. I am not sure of Addams family lore but this picture seems like ‘white’ colored version of morticia,” one wrote.
“That's basically Ophelia. So I am wondering if it's a bait and switch pr name or just the aesthetic landed there,” agreed another fan.
While a third chimed in, “Feels like a missed opportunity but I’m sure this a good role for her tho.”
The much awaited sequel to the series will be released on Wednesday, September 3.
