Prince Harry, Meghan promise new bombshell to Netflix after hit docuseries
‘Harry & Meghan’ continues to be Netflix’s biggest debut for a documentary
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seemingly making new additions to their Netflix contract following its renewal earlier this month.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their six-part docuseries, Harry & Meghan, in 2022, which remains the biggest debut for a documentary at the steaming giant. It not only caused waves in ratings but also in the dynamics of the Sussex-Royal relations, turning tensions into a full-blown rift.
However, following the documentary, none of the other projects by either Harry or Meghan landed the mark in their multi-million-dollar deal. Moreover, the renewed contract, which is not as lucrative as the previous, one is a reflection of that.
It is possible that the Sussexes are trying to make Netflix executives happy as they issued new update in the line-up, which could be another major hit.
In a report by The Sun, Prince Harry is considering a 2027 documentary on his mother Diana, which would coincide with the 30th anniversary of her death.
“If Harry wants to do it then Netflix will bite his hand off,” an industry insider told the outlet.
While the anniversary is still two years away, television executives “would need to begin planning a show within the next six months”.
Meanwhile, it is also believed that King Charles’s younger son could feature or contribute to a non-Netflix Diana project.
