Stephen Colbert ready to hit back at Late Show bosses over cancellation
American comedian furious over the network axing his Late Show
Stephen Colbert is all set to take revenge on CBS after the bosses decided to axe his Late Show.
A source spilled to RadarOnline.com that the host “can joke about it all he wants, but that doesn't take away [the fact that] he's losing millions”.
“It's going to hit him hard,” said an insider.
The source noted that the furious Stephen “is a money-hungry guy” whose ego is wounded particularly because he believed the “show's ratings were better than his rivals”.
The insider claimed that Stephen’s going to be calling on those people that fired him and the network as a whole”.
For the unversed, the Late Show host received support from industry colleagues after the cancellation announcement over financial pressures.
Meanwhile, a source revealed that the show executives “are standing by their decision to end The Late Show for good”.
“The show's bosses said Stephen was losing them money and insisted they held on as long as they could,” mentioned an insider.
The source told the outlet, “They think it's outrageous that he has a bitter taste in his mouth after they paid him so handsomely.”
“It's ending badly with the way Stephen’s handling it and getting worse because he's getting angrier and feeling righteous – especially with the support he's receiving,” concluded an insider.
