Taylor Swift drops big news about her directorial debut movie
Pop icon first announced the project back in 2022
Taylor Swift’s fans are in for a big surprise as the singer’s directorial debut movie may go on floor anytime soon this year.
According to a report by Insneider, the Cruel Summer crooner has brought screenwriter Alice Birch on board to help rewrite the script before the movie goes into production.
The outlet mentioned that Alice “is working closely with Taylor and ‘tailoring’ the project to her creative vision”.
For the unversed, Alice, who is an award-winning British playwright, is well-known for co-writing the Hulu series Normal People, Prime Video series Dead Ringers and co-writing the upcoming movie, Die My Love.
Taylor, who has directed some music videos, will be directing a movie for the first time throughout her career.
The project was first announced back in 2022, and at the time Variety reported that the songstress had given an original script to the Searchlight Pictures.
Three years ago, David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield, Presidents of Searchlight, shared in a statement, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller.”
“It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” read the statement.
