Kelly Clarkson ex-husband Brandon Blackstock breathed his last Aug. 7 at age 48
Kelly Clarkson revealed how Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock privately navigated through his battle with cancer.
The 43-year-old shared how the past few months have been difficult for her as she had to take care of her kids: daughter River Rose (10) and Remington (8).
“Kelley’s work schedule has been difficult over the last few months as she needed to take care of her kids,” an insider shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “She needed the time off as her kids come first. It’s terrible and sad.”
The insider further shared, “Kelly is a great mom and has needed to be there for her kids.”
“Only a few people in Kelly’s circle” along with only “a handful of her show’s team” had knowledge of the ongoing turmoil the Kelly Clarkson Show host was going through ‘behind the scenes’ with the longtime talent manager’s prolonged illness.
For the unversed, Blackstock lost his battle with cancer and died peacefully in sleep August 7.
The family spokesperson released a statement confirming the passing of Blackstock.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family,” the family statement read.
The statement ended, “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
