French Farmers' poop spray protest forces illegal camp to flee
The travellers were told to move out within 24 hours
Furious French farmers took matters into their own hands to remove an “illegal gypsy camp” from their fertile land and they succeeded.
A video recently went viral on social media showing farmers using tractors to spray manure (animal poop) on squatters in a bid to expel them from their land after reportedly not receiving any help from police.
The viral video shows enraged farmers using tractors to circle around the white caravans and spraying the manure all over the place.
The community members who ran behind the tractors to stop the onslaught of animal poop were also sprayed on.
In the minute-long video, six tractors can be seen along with tankers apparently filled with a mixture of manure and water, spraying around the camp in Hautes-Vosges, France.
A netizen claimed on X that angry farmers have successfully gotten 500 gypsy squatters evicted after spraying them with manure. They added, “A judge has ordered all 500 members of the travelling community of gypsies to leave the area.”
In conversation with The Sun, a farmer said, “With harvest just weeks away, we were forced to take things in our own hands.”
Reacting to their court’s ruling, the farmer added, “It is a major win for us. A civil court decision went in our favour.”
The travellers were told to move out within 24 hours, or else face police intervention and fines. Around 500 of them, travelling in about 200 caravans, all left.
