Prince Harry, Meghan Markle face Trump's wrath as King Charles meeting nears

Tensions are rising near Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Montecito home ahead of Donald Trump’s meeting with King Charles.

According to the Montecito Journal via Express, an emergency meeting was held on July 15 by the city council and the 805 Immigration Coalition to address fears over ongoing ICE activity in the region.

In recent weeks, towns across Santa Barbara County and Los Angeles have seen a surge in immigration enforcement, part of President Trump’s renewed crackdown on undocumented immigrants.

As reported by the BBC, Trump has called on federal agencies to "do all in their power" to deliver "the single largest mass deportation programme in history."

Now sitting uncomfortably close to the chaos, the Sussex’s upscale Californian neighbourhood has been their home ever since they stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and Harry moved from the U.K. to the U.S. with Meghan. They now live there with their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. 

The news comes as both King Charles and Donald Trump undertook overlapping visits to Scotland, though their schedules did not allow for them to meet. However, they are set to meet later in September for Trump’s State Visit, where he will be hosted by the monarch.
