Cameron Boyce’s mom responds to Adam Sandler’s beautiful tribute
Cameron Boyce’s mother shares a heartfelt message after Adam Sandler remembered her late son in 'Happy Gilmore 2'
Cameron Boyce’s mother shared a heartfelt message after Adam Sandler honoured her late son in Happy Gilmore 2.
The young Disney star, who won hearts as Luke Ross on Jessie, passed away in 2019 at just 20 years old after suffering seizure.
Years later, Sandler found a touching way to include him in his new comedy.
In one brief but emotional moment, Adam’s character Happy checks in at a golf course while staff members watch a TV show in the background.
However, the show featured Cameron and fans immediately recognized it as Jessie.
Libby Boyce, Cameron’s mom, shared a still from the scene on Instagram and wrote, “Thank you @adamsandler for honoring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2 (sic)”.
She later reflected on the connection her son had with the actor and posted, "Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death.
Cameron was supposed to be in Hubie Halloween and they were strategizing. They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam's memory alive which warms our heart."
Although Cameron never made it to the set of Hubie Halloween,
Adam made sure he was remembered. The film ended with a dedication showing Cameron’s picture along with the words, “In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
