Seventeen embarks on new chapter with world tour
K-Pop supergroup Seventeen to perform in U.S. cities this fall
Seventeen, the 13-member K-pop supergroup, is gearing up for a new world tour, dubbed New_.
The tour will kick off in Incheon, South Korea, on Sept. 13, and will feature a nine-stop U.S. leg, including performances in Tacoma, Washington; Los Angeles; Austin; Sunrise, Florida; and Washington, D.C.
The tour marks a new chapter for Seventeen, who celebrated their 10-year anniversary in May. The group has been working hard to reinvent themselves and showcase their individual personalities and capabilities.
As leader S.Coups told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year, "We are ready to reinvent ourselves. We are standing at a new starting line, preparing for a new path ahead and ready to blaze a new trail."
Seventeen's members are eager to showcase their individuality and unique talents on the tour. Hoshi, a member of the group, explained that up until now, they've mostly focused on group promotions, but they want to show more of their individual personalities and capabilities.
"Most of the members are going to enlist in the military soon," Hoshi said. "We would like to show more of our individualities, each of the members’ personalities and capabilities, so that when the time comes and we get back together again as a group, we’ll be able to showcase ourselves as a better Seventeen."
The U.S. leg of the tour will feature performances in the following cities:
- Tacoma, Washington: Oct. 11
- Los Angeles: Oct. 14-15
- Austin: Oct. 18-19
- Sunrise, Florida: Oct. 23-24
- Washington, D.C.: Oct. 26-27
Seventeen's latest release, Happy Burstday, sold over 2.52 million copies in its first week, demonstrating the group's continued popularity and success.
