Kelly Ripa pet peeve about husband Mark Consuelos goes viral
Kelly Ripa, husband Mark Consuelos cohost ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’
Kelly Ripa has had to bear one thing while hosting Live with Kelly and Mark with her husband of 30 years, and she no longer is keeping it a secret.
The 54-year-old shared on Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast’s July 15 episode about what she doesn’t like working with Consuelos.
“He doesn’t listen to me frequently, and he will tune me out while we are live on the air,” Ripa poured her heart out.
“And I’m like here’s the thing, I’m used to you tuning me out in life, but when you are being paid—highly paid by the way—to literally listen to me, then you have to listen to me.”
“Literally I watch him,” Kelly continued. “I watch him drift away. And I’m like, ‘Hey don’t do that.’”
The All My Children actress had previously been cohosting the show with Ryan Seacrest.
However, after his departure the Riverdale alum officially replaced Seacrest in 2023.
Though Ripa confessed that he had a ‘surprising reaction’ when offered the job.
“It was really convincing Mark,” she narrated. “Because initially when they came to Mark, he flat out refused.”
Ripa was also apprehensive of cohosting the show with her husband.
“I also thought that was kind of a bad Idea,” she recalled. “I was like a husband and a wife hosting a morning show is different than a husband and wife acting together or producing something together.”
Nevertheless, the American actor’s presence did good to the show as the fans liked his ‘zero fs attitude’ as per Ripa’s analysis.
