Meghan Markle is maximising the buzz with her first ever alcoholic drink.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her Napa Valley rosé wine on July 1 under her As Ever lifestyle brand. But alongside the premium price tag, what raised eyebrows was its alcohol content: a surprising 14.5%, as reported by Express.
That’s notably higher than most celeb offerings, including Kylie Minogue’s £9 rosé (11% ABV), Post Malone’s Maison No. 9 (£20, 12%), and even Brad Pitt’s Miraval (£20, 12.5%).
Most wines typically have an ABV (alcohol by volume) of around 11-14%.
Sold in bundles of three, six, or twelve, Meghan’s rosé came exclusively from Napa Valley and was available for U.S. customers only, with a flat shipping rate of £15 ($20). International fans were left out.
As Ever described the wine as “a delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish,” adding that it’s “reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles.”
While some fans praised the flavour, others weren’t so impressed, calling it “bland.”
Still, the hype surrounding the Duchess’s wine debut — timed on Princess Diana’s birthday — suggests that Meghan’s brand power is very much intact.
