Prince Andrew left 'upset' by King Charles' hurtful decision involving his daughters
The dynamic between King Charles and Prince Andrew has remained under scrutiny
Prince Andrew was reportedly left deeply upset and insulted after King Charles made the decision to withdraw police protection for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The move, which dates back to 2011, has resurfaced in royal discussions as experts highlight it as a key moment that signalled a growing rift between the royal brothers.
Royal correspondent Jack Royston noted that the move would have been a significant blow to Andrew, saying it must have 'really stung.'
Fellow royal expert Jennie Bond recalled the Duke of York's emotional reaction, stating, 'I do remember him being very upset, affronted, insulted on behalf of his daughters by Charles' decision.'
Baroness Ayesha Hazarika also weighed in, suggesting the decision to remove their security was a clear public indicator of the strained relationship between the brothers.
'That certainly sent a signal Andrew and it certainly sent a signal to the wider public that there was definitely a cooling in relations.'
The dynamic between King Charles, 76, and Prince Andrew, 65, has remained under scrutiny, particularly following Charles' coronation and Andrew's retreat from public duties amid various scandals, including his controversial ties to Jeffrey Epstein, according to OK!Magazine.
More recently, another shift reportedly occurred:Prince Andrew is said to have been removed from the list of royals eligible to act as a Counsellor of State, meaning he can no longer officially represent the monarch.
