Sophie Turner shares discomfort over romantic role with former on-screen 'brother'
Sophie Turner opens up about playing ‘unexpected’ character
Sophie Turner is sharing her discomfort with playing lovers alongside her Game of Thrones co-star after they were originally introduced as siblings.
The Sansa Stark actress, who portrayed Kit Harington’s on-screen sister in The Dreadful, expressed her dislike for the idea of portraying his romantic partner in the new film.
During an exclusive interview with Vogue magazine, the 29-year-old shared her thoughts on the role.
She said, “I’ve got a few very exciting projects coming out. I did a movie last year which I’m really excited about. [It’s] with my old but very good friend, Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones.
“We’re doing a Gothic horror, but we play lovers. Sorry guys, it’s really weird for all of us.”
For those unversed, the two actors originally played cousins in the acclaimed series, which ran from 2011 to 2019.
In the show, Ned Stark was believed to be Jon Snow’s father and Sansa's biological father, making Jon and Sansa appear to be half-siblings. However, it was later revealed that Jon was actually the son of Ned’s sister Lyanna Stark, making him Sansa’s cousin.
