King Charles will express his deep admiration for France during a State Banquet speech on Tuesday evening, marking the start of President Emmanuel Macron's three-day State Visit to the United Kingdom.
The King and Queen will host President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at Windsor Castle from Tuesday to Thursday.
According to a Palace source as per GB News, King Charles will deliver a speech that demonstrates how "in awe" he is of France.
The monarch will emphasise the vital importance of the British-French partnership in confronting contemporary challenges, stating that "our two countries face a multitude of complex threats, emanating from multiple directions. As friends and as allies, we face them together."
The King will reflect on a millennium of shared history between the two nations, acknowledging "1,000 years of shared history and culture between our two peoples."
He will also highlight personal connections with the Royal Family, particularly referencing Their Majesties' State Visit to France in September 2023.
King Charles will position Britain and France as nations capable of leading the global response to challenges, drawing on their longstanding alliance and shared commitment to addressing international issues together.
He will state that "our two nations share not only values, but also the tireless determination to act on them in the world."
The monarch's speech will underscore the importance of the historic alliance between Britain and France in confronting the complex issues facing both nations.
King Charles will conclude by highlighting the shared values that unite both nations, saying that "for centuries our citizens have admired each other, amused each other, and imitated each other." He will also express how he remains "in awe of France's extraordinary attributes and achievements."
