Duchess of Edinburgh joins students at Hertfordshire Agricultural Event
The Duchess of Edinburgh certainly brought high summer energy to the Kent countryside on Friday.
Known for her refined and timeless wardrobe, Duchess Sophie surprised royal style watchers by stepping out in what many are calling her boldest look of 2025.
Ditching her usual understated palette, Sophie embraced full bloom in the striking ‘Kasia’ midi shirt dress by Erdem.
The floral number, awash in vivid reds with touches of white and soft blue, featured a flattering waistline and a flared hem that fell gracefully above her ankles.
While some fans praised the vibrant silhouette as a fresh and confident choice, others were more hesitant divided over whether the look was fashion forward or too daring for a royal engagement.
Followers of popular royal style blog @royal.fashion.daily shared mixed opinions on Instagram.
One critic wrote, "Such a busy, busy fabric. The dress is wearing her, she isn't wearing the dress."
Another added, "A different choice of summer footwear would help this dress look better. These espadrilles cut her off at the ankle."
And just days later, she was back to turning heads, this time in a breezy, romantic look that had everyone talking for the right reasons.
On Tuesday, the 60 year old royal stepped out for the Hertfordshire Schools Food and Farming Day, embracing summer in a stunning floral dress by Peter Pilotto.
The dress featured delicate, floaty short sleeves, a cinched waist, and a softly flowing skirt that moved beautifully in the countryside breeze.
