Prince William taken aback as Meghan launches personal attack on key royal

Meghan Markle seemed to have delivered a personal attack at someone Prince William holds really close to his heart.

The Prince of Wales, who is estranged from his brother Prince Harry and his wife Meghan since the past three years, was irked by his sister-in-law’s latest move which has been dubbed as ‘inappropriate’ and downright ‘cruel’.

William holds a tender spot for his late mother and has been making efforts to carry on her legacy through meaningful initiatives, like Homewards – a programme that aims to end homelessness in the UK, inspired by Diana’s advocacy.

Meanwhile, Meghan had launched her As Ever rosé wine on Diana’s birthday – a tone-deaf move as the late Princess of Wales died in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. According to royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, the irony is lost on the future king.

“It’s not lost on Prince William that Meghan has launched an alcohol brand on his mother’s birthday, the very mum he lost in a drink driving tragedy,” a source told Schofield.

When asked if William was angry at Meghan for using Diana’s birthday to launch her alcohol brand, the source said, “It's what he's come to expect from her. He doesn't think much of her.” Although, it did “struck a nerve” with him.

Schofield noted that this appeared to be a deliberate move, which not only hurts William but also her own husband, Prince Harry who loved his mother dearly.

“Timing an alcohol launch to Diana’s birthday wasn’t just a misstep, it was borderline cruel,” she continued. “To claim ignorance here doesn’t hold up—it wasn’t just insensitive. It felt like a betrayal of the very narrative she’s working so hard to craft.”
