Prince William is speeding up major changes at his Duchy of Cornwall as the future king introduces a new era before he takes on his destined role in the monarchy.

The Prince of Wales, who inherited the royal estate from his father King Charles after he ascended to the throne, is implementing new meaningful polices after the immense backlash over the millions royal were earning from public bodies and charities.

Kensington Palace revealed that Prince William will be waiving rental charges and offer 50 per cent discount for tenants in they enter into a “new era of deep change” for the private estate.

“We are making the most of the opportunity to step back and reflect. Reflect on what society requires of us,” explained Will Bax, the estate’s new secretary and keeper of records.

“Reflect on how we support our people, our communities and our places to thrive. And reflect on how we communicate our mission; to deliver positive impact for people, for places and for the planet, he said.

In the investigation by Channel 4’s Dispatches and the Sunday Times, it was discovered that the private estates of King Charles and Prince William were charging millions for rent from prisons, NHS hospitals and charities. Meanwhile, the living conditions of the people renting at the estate has been abysmal.

The secretary assured that William wants the estate to be operated in a “modern, socially minded way” and that the rents being saved amounted to a “very significant sum”.

The money from the estate is used to fund the charitable, private and official lives of William, Kate Middleton and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“It would be remiss not to address the media scrutiny the duchy has experienced this past year,” Bax addressed on behalf of the future king.

“We've used these challenges as an opportunity to stop and reflect both the duke and I are clear that we want the duchy to be world class in our approach to supporting people, communities and nature to flourish and to realise that aim, we must operate and communicate in a modern, socially minded way.”
