Prince William treads lightly on Charlotte’s wild food picks
Prince William’s picky palate no match for Kate and Charlotte’s culinary daring
Prince William has never been known for his love of spicy food unlike his wife, Princess Kate, or their daughter, Princess Charlotte, who both enjoy bold flavors, particularly when it comes to Indian cuisine.
In fact, ahead of the royal couple’s tour of India a few years ago, the Prince of Wales admitted that he “struggles with spices.”
During an engagement on the second day of London Climate Action Week, Prince William was gifted a jar of chilli oil by Jennifer Lasimbang, former member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly in Borneo.
He accepted the present with a smile, joking: “That looks very spicy, I imagine that's very hot. I look forward to trying that maybe this one delicately.”
Much like her mum, Charlotte has a real taste for spice.
During a royal visit to the Aga Khan in 2019, ahead of the family’s tour of Pakistan, Kate revealed that Charlotte was already "pretty good with heat" even at the age of six.
Kate added that she often made separate versions of curry for herself and William, while preparing a spicier batch for the children.
Fast forward four years, and it’s likely her spice tolerance has only grown possibly even rivaling her mum’s.
