Prince William expresses 'pride' for his passion project
The Prince of Wales says he has 'huge excitement for what is still to come' in a new statement
Prince William is feeling a sense of pride as he takes his Earthshot Prize to one of the biggest climate action events of the world.
On Tuesday, June 24, the Prince of Wales attended the Leading with Impact event at London Climate Action Week, where he celebrated the achievements of the Earthshot Prize 2024 finalists.
During the event, William participated in a workshop with the finalists as they gave him a rundown of their progress. He then joined Earthshot Prize Ambassador and conservationist Robert Irwin on stage, along with various influential figures in the climate, business, and philanthropy spheres.
Following the event, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account shared a video featuring Irwin where he talked about the importance of the London Climate action week and the impact of the Earthshot Prize
“Kicking off London Climate Action Week at Earthshot’s Leading with Impact Programme. Great conversations of urgent optimism, inspiring change at what’s next,” the caption read, extending gratitude for the 21-year-old son of late Australian conservationist Steve Irwin.
“Lots of pride in what The Earthshot Prize has achieved and huge excitement for what’s still to come,” the statement continued.
Irwin echoed the sentiment as he concluded the video, saying, “We’ve got to work together, it’s gotta be a community, it’s gotta be a collaboration. And the Earthshot Prize at London Climate Action Week is exemplifying the sense of collaboration for climate action.”
