Meghan Markle brushed off as irrelevant by Royals
Meghan Markle’s podcast comment raises eyebrows at the Palace
Meghan Markle is once again making headlines this time for comments that many interpret as a pointed swipe at the Royal Family.
During her recent appearance on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, the Duchess of Sussex was asked if she would have done anything differently to change her public narrative in earlier years.
Without hesitation, Meghan replied: "Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth."
She later added a remark about lies, saying they "couldn’t last forever," a line that has sparked renewed speculation about who exactly she was referencing.
Though she didn’t name names, the tone and context echoed past criticisms Meghan has made about her time as a senior royal.
Royal watchers believe the comments were likely directed at Prince Harry’s family, reigniting tensions that have simmered since the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
One royal expert claimed this week that The Duchess is now considered “irrelevant” by most members of the Royal Family.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told The Mirror that the royals are unlikely to pay much attention to the duchess’s repeated digs since she and Prince Harry moved to America five years ago.
"I imagine the Royal Family might catch a fleeting headline about Meghan’s latest exploits, but I very much doubt any of them take much notice of what she says or does," Bond explained.
"She was someone they knew for only a short time and didn’t forge meaningful relationships with anyone in the family except, of course, her husband."
"As a result, I think most of the family view her as irrelevant."
