Another Royal Ascot gaffe emerges after Princess Kate's carriage confusion
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi found himself at the centre of an awkward blunder at Royal Ascot amid ongoing confusion regarding Princess Kate's appearance at the event.
The prestigious racing festival faced criticism this week after several administrative slip-ups came to light.
One of the most noticeable errors occurred on Thursday when the official carriage listing misspelled Princess Beatrice's husband's name. Instead of the correct 'Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi', the programme mistakenly printed 'Mr Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi,' altering the spelling of his first name.
The eagled eyed royals were quick to spot the typ shortly after the list was made public online. The mistake stood out even more as Edoardo and Princess Beatrice were riding in the third carriage that day, accompanied by Princess Zahra Aga Khan and renowned horse trainer William Haggas.
This was not the only error during the eventful week. On Wednesday, Royal Ascot's schedule inaccurately indicated that the Princess of Wales would attend the second day of races.
The confusion arose after Kate's name appeared on the official carriage roster alongside Prince William, pro golfer Justin Rose, and his wife Kate Phillips.
Sources later shared that the Princess was 'disappointed' to miss the occasion but felt it was important to 'maintain the right balance' in her commitments.
Royal Ascot 2025 commenced on Tuesday, June 18, and will run through Sunday, June 22.
