King Charles’s sister, Princess Anne, is finally putting her foot down about a key issue after she learned about the monarch ‘s upsetting health update.
The Princess Royal, who is known for her no-nonsense attitude for royal duty and her loyalty to the monarchy, is now making a surprising appeal about her nephew, Prince Harry, before it’s too late.
Anne had purposefully stayed out of the rift between the father and son but after she received the news that Charles’s cancer is incurable, palace sources believe the 74-year-old royal is the key to ending the feud once and for all.
“The news that her beloved brother’s cancer is incurable has forced her to face a devastating reality – there’s a sense of urgency and time’s running out,” a source told Woman’s Day magazine.
Despite the “tough” circumstances, the King and his sister have been having “serious discussions about his final wishes, all of which she has every intention of keeping”. During the meetings, Anne is also urging Charles to “finding a way to end this out-of-control feud between his sons, even if it’s not in his lifetime”.
The monarch is currently not on speaking terms with the Duke of Sussex as sources described that Harry “cannot be trusted” following his public outbursts about the royal family. Meanwhile, Anne acknowledges Harry’s mistakes but holds regard for him due to his military service. She holds the same regard for Prince William, who has been estranged from his younger brother since nearly three years.
The insider stated that Anne is the “only one” who can talk sense to both princes and King Charles “trusts Anne like no other”.
“[William and Harry] have had nothing but respect and affection for [Anne] from the day they were toddlers. Anne’s pragmatic, no-drama approach, which not unlike their late father’s, Prince Philip, is a potential bridge to reconcile Harry and William.”
Moreover, Anne also believes that the rift is taking a toll on his brother’s health, who undergoes weekly treatments for cancer.
