King Charles rolls into Ascot amidst famous faces and regal carriages
King Charles and Queen reign supreme as Royal Ascot carriage procession rolls out
King Charles and Queen Camilla made a triumphant return to Royal Ascot on Tuesday, leading the iconic horse drawn carriage procession to cheers from the crowd.
Seated in the first carriage alongside Prince Faisal bin Salman Al Saud and Lady Sarah Keswick, Their Majesties appeared beaming as they marked their arrival at the prestigious racing event.
The royal presence extended well beyond the leading pair, with the second, third, and fourth carriages brimming with familiar faces from the family’s inner circle and close friends.
This year’s appearance follows closely on the heels of other deeply traditional ceremonies such as Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter, making Ascot another symbolic moment of unity and celebration for the royal family.
And while Buckingham Palace has yet to confirm his full schedule, reports suggest King Charles is planning to attend all five days of the event, driven by what insiders are calling a “newfound passion” for the sport of kings.
As the Royal Procession got underway at Royal Ascot, all eyes turned to the second carriage, where Princess Anne greeted cheering spectators with her signature wave.
Joining her were Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, and the Duke and Duchess of Wellington, making for a distinguished and elegant group.
King Charles’s nephew, Peter Phillips, made a stylish appearance with his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling, while acclaimed author Anthony Horowitz shared the ride with his wife, Jill.
In the fourth carriage, Lady Joanna Morton Jack rode alongside her husband, historian Henry Morton Jack, and Lord and Lady Vestey, continuing the procession’s blend of aristocracy and close royal connections.
