The Duchess of Sussex opens up about the 'realness' behind the viral 'Baby Momma dance' video
Meghan Markle has no regrets about her viral dance video with Prince Harry.
In the teaser to an upcoming episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast obtained by People magazine, the Duchess of Sussex reflects on the “Baby Momma Dance” clip she posted to Instagram on June 4 as part of her tribute for daughter Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday.
The candid video showed Meghan, 43, grooving with Harry, 40, in the hours before giving birth to Lilibet back in 2021.
“Four years ago today, this also happened,” she wrote in the caption. “Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work — there was only one thing left to do!"
Speaking with Grede, Meghan opened up about finally sharing her unfiltered self online.
When Grede said “You have to be authentic,” Meghan replied, “Did you see my 'Baby Momma' dance?!”
Grede praised the moment, calling it “honest” and “happy” while Meghan concurred and said it was a “realness” to it.
The Suits alum then pointed out that though she may not share glimpses of it with the public, these authentic moments have always existed.
“That was four years ago… there’s still a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life — that’s happening behind the scenes,” she explained, adding, “I’m just grateful that now, being back on social… I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
Meghan returned to Instagram at the beginning of this year, sharing glimpses of her family life.
Recently, she paid tribute to Harry on Father's Day, sharing never-before-seen moments between the doting dad and his kids Archie and Lilibet.
