Kate Middleton’s 10-year-old is closely following in her mother’s footsteps to give special tributes with meaningful gestures.
Princess Charlotte made a stunning appearance in aqua-hued sundress, co-ordinating with her mum’s teal Catherine Walker coat dress, for the Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
The mother-daughter duo delighted royal fans with their appearance alongside with the rest of the royal family. However, there was a small detail in Charlotte’s outfit that many may have missed.
The young princess wore a small horseshoe brooch adorned with pearls, in honour of her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
The glitzy accessory was reportedly a gift from the late Queen to Princess Charlotte. Prince George and Prince Louis’s sister also wore the brooch during the Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
At one point during the sombre ever, Charlotte was even seen getting emotional despite just being seven at the time.
The late Queen was known for her love for horses and the massive brooch collection. Meanwhile, Charlotte has also taken up horseback riding just like her great-grandmother.
Subtle messages through sartorial choices and special accessories has been an unwritten royal rule. The heartfelt gesture is an indication that the young royal is growing up following royal protocol under the careful guidance of the Princess of Wales.
Kate herself has used accessories at several occasions to honour not just the late Queen but also the beloved mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
