Prince William and Attenborough team up in 'lovely' moment
Prince William makes waves with Blue Economy diplomacy
Prince William has been hailed as Sir David Attenborough’s "sorcerer’s apprentice" by royal commentator Charles Rae, who says the Prince is clearly carrying the environmental torch passed down from the legendary broadcaster.
Speaking to GB News, Rae praised a recent video featuring both the Prince of Wales and Sir David, calling it “lovely” and packed with purpose.
"It carries a very important message that both men are sending out that we really have to take care of our oceans," he said.
The remarks follow Prince William’s solo appearance at Monaco’s Blue Economy and Finance Forum, where he showcased his growing diplomatic prowess.
During the visit, the Prince delivered a powerful speech on marine conservation, calling for greater global action to protect the world’s oceans.
"The baton has been handed over," Rae added. "William has now become Sir David Attenborough’s sorcerer’s apprentice no doubt about that."
Rae highlighted the 57-year age gap between the two men Sir David and Prince William, as a powerful representation of generational leadership on climate and ocean conservation.
The Prince of Wales has publicly credited Attenborough with inspiring his environmental advocacy, and Rae pointed to a recent joint video as a perfect example of their shared mission.
"It’s a lovely little video, I encourage everyone to watch it," he said.
"It’s a very serious video, but it’s got fun moments," Rae said. "The way Sir David told the story was brilliant, and William couldn’t help but laugh."
