Kensington Palace issues update as Prince William makes solo visit to Monaco
Prince William touched down in Monaco as he embarks on a crucial task for crucial mission concerning the future.
The Prince of Wales, who is the founder and president of The Earthshot Prize, is attending the Blue Economy and Finance Forum, Grimaldi Forum where he will to discuss how to invest in ocean-friendly innovation.
Kensington Palace released a statement about the visit as Willaim met with attendees.
“Great to be attending the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco, hosted by @fondationprincealbertz,” the message read
“Inspiring to catch up with Earthshot Finalists working to 'Revive our Oceans'. From restoring coral reefs to transforming seaweed farming and plastic pollution prevention.”
Prince William founded the Earthshot Prize to find practical solutions to protect the natural environment and alleviate the impact of climate change in the planet.
The future king, who is firmly following in the footsteps of his father, King Charles, has been advocating to bring attention to issues. Most recently he has been putting a spotlight on the world’s oceans which are being impacted by the rising temperatures, pollution and overfishing.
Prince Albert II of Monaco, who is a supporter of many oceans projects and is a key player at the forum, also met the future British monarch.
Royal aides previously described the speech to be a call to action” as he turns his attention to restoring the health of the world’s oceans.
William is expected to share some words of hope as he urges action from world leaders.
“Halfway through this decisive decade, I call on all of you to think big in your actions. Let us act together with urgency and optimism while we still have the chance,” he is anticipated to say per the aides.
