Buckingham Palace shared new update as Queen Camilla received new honour today.

Camilla paid a visit to Hexham Racecourse today, where she was greeted by the racecourse manager and introduced to key figures from the horse racing community.

The post was shared with the caption: 'Thank you Hexham for the warm welcome today! The Queen met local community leaders stall holders in the Northumberland market town as well as visiting Hexham Racecourse to officially open the 'Queen Camilla Stand.'

Her Majesty began her tour on the paddock lawn, meeting with the directors and staff who help run the venue. She then made her way to the parade ring, where she was introduced to trainers, jockeys, veterinarians, medical professionals, and local horse trainers along with their horses.

The Queen's visit was part of a broader engagement with members of the racing industry at the historic Northumberland venue, which boasts a racing legacy spanning over 300 years.

Her Majesty also walked to a newly built stand named in her honour, where she listened to industry representatives share insights into current trends and challenges in horse racing.

Among the guests Camilla met was Major Charles Enderby, the racecourse's former managing director, who held the role from 1969 to 2016.

Major Enderby is also the great-grandson of Charles Henderson, a previous owner who played a pivotal role in shaping the race course's history.

The visit allowed the Queen to explore the racecourse's facilities and engage in meaningful conversations about the future of the sport.

Before concluding her tour, Queen Camilla watched horses canter from the two-mile starting post to the finish line, and officially opened the newly constructed 'The Queen Camilla Stand.'
