Princess Anne's sharp wit meets Paul Hollywood's sweet gesture at Windsor

Princess Anne humorously teased Paul Hollywood about his deep tan when he received his MBE at Windsor Castle, showing her trademark bluntness. 

The celebrity baker, 59, from Wallasey, Merseyside, was honoured for his contributions to baking and broadcasting exchanged lighted-hearted conversation with the Princess, which Hollywood later baked and sent to her.

'The first thing she said to me was, 'Where did you get your sickening tan?' Hollywood told the Mail.

Famous for his blue eyes and honest critiques on Bake Off, Hollywood found himself on the receiving end of some frank feedback from the King's sister. 

Her witty comment soon paved the way for a more relaxed conversation about Hollywood's recent travels.

'We chatted about my holiday ,and then she said, 'I really like Chelsea buns,' he shared. 'She was incredibly charming and interesting.' 

Interestingly, the comment he received from the Princess and his gracious reaction to it mirror the same composure he expects from the nervous contestants who face his own tough critiques. 

Their exchange at Windsor Castle highlighted how the modern royal family continues to embrace frank, unfiltered interactions over scripted formality.
