Prince Harry sends letter to UK after major snub: ‘gesture speaks volumes’

The Royal Family is known for its well-timed photo-ops and subtle message, especially when they are not able to make an outright statement about the matter.

Prince Harry’s rift with the royals has been widened over the past few weeks especially after his BBC interview on his UK security verdict. To make matters worse, details of Harry’s secret meeting with uncle Charles Spencer revealed his intentions to drop the royal family name.

While King Charles estranged son has not heard anything back from the royal family, it is clear that the slimmest chance of a reconciliation now seems improbable.

In an emotional letter sent to the UK marking an important milestone, Harry appeared to have expressed the importance of gestures.

The Duke of Sussex, who supported a number of charities in his home country when he was a working royal, continues to keep in touch with some as he feels personally attached to them.

Despite the back-and-forth of upsetting blows between the Sussexes and the royals, Harry received some delightful news about the record-breaking expedition aimed to raise funds for military charities, including Scotty's Little Soldiers.

Kevin Godlington, one of the ex-Special Forces soldiers who participated in the challenge, shared the letter on social media in which Harry extended his “warmest congratulations”.

“I felt compelled to reach out and offer my. What you’ve done is nothing short of extraordinary,” he penned. “Reaching the top of the world is an immense physical and mental challenge in its own right – but doing it with purpose, to honour and support military families, elevates this feat to another level entirely.”

He stated that he was “particularly moved to hear that Corporal Lee Scott’s name tag made the journey with you.”

He continued, “That gesture speaks volumes, and I know it will have meant the world to Nikki. her family and all those at Scotty’s.

“Thank you for your strength, your advocacy, and your willingness to make the climb on behalf of others. You’ve not only conquered Everest – you’ve brought attention to the sacrifices of our armed forces community in a way few others ever could.”

Prince Harry served in the UK army for 10 years and even went on two tours to Afghanistan. This is one of the reason why Harry feels personally for the charity as  the charity honours Scott, who was killed whilst serving with the Royal Tank Regiment in Afghanistan in 2009.
