King Charles prepares to mark history in Canada amid battle with cancer
Royal family released a key statement hours before King Charles' historic milestone in Canada.
On May 27, the Palace's spokesperson shared that the monarch will achieve special honour, which was previously held by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
A significant photo of the late Queen was shared on the royal family's official Instagram channels, which showcased her attending the 23rd Session of the Canadian Parliament in 1957
The King's team shared, "Later today, The King will open Parliament in Canada, becoming the first monarch to do so since Queen Elizabeth II in 1957."
King Charles will deliver the "Speech from the Throne" in Ottawa today (Tuesday), which is significant following Donald Trump's remarks about Canada.
Speaking of this special milestone, one fan wrote, "With heartfelt gratitude to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family—timeless symbols of dignity, devotion, and inspiration for all humanity."
"History in the making," another well-wisher of the royal family penned.
