Disney backed 'Lilo & Stitch' live-action remake receives rave reviews from critics
'Lilo & Stitch' is set to release on May 23
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the upcoming Lilo & Stitch live-action remake has just received its first receive reviews by the critics.
The family adventure film is a remake of the 2002 animated film of the same name. It follows the story of a blue alien, who makes its way to the earth and makes a human friend named, Lilo.
Earlier today, some initial reviews surfaced on the internet suggesting that Lilo & Stitch is 'the best Disney live-action to date.'
Journalist Laura Sirikul expressed on X that she never imagined that the makers will be able to merge animation with live action so well.
She penned, “Lilo and Stitch was heartwarming & really gave the official film more depth to Lilo & Nani. Maia Kealoha is a STAR!”
“The Stitch was so well made. I never imagined in 23 years they’d be able to merge animation w/ live action this well. It was magical. Very sweet.”
Meanwhile, critic Wendy Lee Szany wrote, “Lilo and Stitch is the best Disney live-action to date. Seeing Stitch in his live-action form on the big screen brings on a huge wave of nostalgia.”
“Tons of laughter and heartwarming moments. The film hits similar beats to the original, as well added something new flavors.”
The chaotic Stitch has been voiced by Chris Sanders. On the other hand, Maia Kealoha, Sydney Agudong will be playing Lilo and Nani respectively.
The new film also stars Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen portraying aliens Jumba and Pleakley.
