Alan Cumming, who is widely known to play Sandy Frink in 1997s Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, has confirmed his return to the new entry.
The film stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino playing Michele Weinberger and Romy White respectively. The two friends invent fake careers to impress their former batchmates in a 10-year-old high school reunion.
Directed by David Mirkin, the comedy movie also features Julia Campbell, Janeane Garofalo, Elaine Hendrix and Justin Theroux.
While talking about the upcoming sequel, Cumming shared with PEOPLE, “It's very exciting. It's been really fun actually talking to Robin [Schiff], the writer and Lisa [Kudrow] as well about it.”
The X-2 star, however, confirmed that the exciting project will be release in 2027, but he did not spill any further details regarding the plot.
"I can't really say much without giving too much away.
“Obviously everyone's still in each other's lives. But it may be in a different way... It's nice to think of those characters still being old friends”, stated the 60-year-old actor.
On the other hand, Alan will also be reprising his role as Nightcrawler in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
