Palace confirms key Duchess Sophie visit after Prince Edward’s important role
Duchess Sophie is set to take on two major events as Prince Edward leaves UK for key role
King Charles has notably been relying on the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh as he assigns important tasks to the royal couple.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Duchess Sophie will be making two major solo appearances on Monday in Liverpool.
The 60-year-old royal will visit the Royal School for the Blind, Church Road North, Wavertree, Liverpool.
She will then attend a Conference hosted by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists at the Arena and Convention Centre, King’s Dock, Port of Liverpool.
Sophie has been dubbed ‘secret weapon’ in Charles’s monarchy by royal insiders, as the royal is climbing up the popularity polls. The unofficial title is reflection of her strong work ethic and her loyalty to the monarchy.
The confirmation comes as Prince Edward performed a crucial role to represent the royal family at the global stage on Sunday.
In a milestone moment, as Pope Leo XIV conducted his first mass marking the official start of his papacy, Edward attended the event on the orders of the King.
Last month, Prince William had attended the funeral of the late Pope Francis as per the longstanding tradition.
